For latest everythings check out Speds' Blog! In 1999 after stints in numerous garage bands Rob Lisle put together rock band MightyBoy. As singer and songwriter for the band, Rob enjoyed a rollercoaster ride as the band released multiple EPs, toured Australia, enjoyed radio and TV coverage, signed to Shock Records and somewhere along the way picked up the nickname Speds. When the band disolved in 2005, Rob went into hiding and found solace in his acoustic guitar and his writing stories. Not to say there wasn't still some rock to be had - Speds enjoyed a back seat roll in the Doggy Paddle Scandal as bass player the whole time writing and recording a bunch of honest little three chord songs that culminated in Slack Jawed. In 2006 Rob, under the guiding eye of Secret Life of Us's Jaime Browne penned the feature film screenplay - Darkest Days. And , followed it up with the comic book Badly Beaten Boy and TV show Further Education. In 2009 Rob Lisle/Speds released a record of homemade epics and oddities entitled Slack Jawed. Not intended as anything more than a cult type record with a sound likened to a lolli-pop with dirt on it. Somewhere along the line Rob wanted to re-visit his days in community radio and began the podcast - Toothbrush Love. The weekly show, now with over 50 episodes and an average of 1000 listeners each week, features buddies Broni, Easy & Gimp and can be found here at Psycho Janitor or on ITunes Contact Speds - spedsrocks@yahoo.com |
